Camp Lakeview 5th Grade

5th Grade Parents and students,

Our overnight camp is quickly approaching. We have several students who said they are going, but have not paid and we have many students who have not turned in forms, but say they are going.  Please get paperwork and money to your team teachers ASAP. You can pay online.  If you are for sure not allowing your student to go, let one of your team teachers know.

Team Columbia goes Tuesday, October 26 and will return Wednesday October 27, Team Tulane goes Monday, October 1 and returns Tuesday, October 2, and Team Vanderbilt goes Tuesday, November 9 and returns Wednesday, October, 10. Your child will need to bring all of their things with them to school at normal school time We will leave school around 9:00 or soon thereafter when the buses arrive.

If you are planning to pick your child up in the evening and bring them back in the morning, please arrive at camp to pick your child up around 8:00 in the evening. Please have them back at camp by 7:30 in the morning.

If you are planning on meeting us at camp for the campfire and taking your own child home, the Campfire starts around 6:00. You can take your child home after that. If you are not coming out to camp, we are having the bus load hopefully around 7:00 and we will return to school around 8:00. We will have Mr. Short send out an email blast when the buses leave camp so you have an approximate time when they will arrive at school. You will be picking the kids up IN THE BACK OF THE BUILDING.

CHAPERONE INFORMATION

The chaperones need to meet in the cafeteria by 8:30 for a chaperone meeting. If you are a chaperone, you can leave your stuff and your student’s stuff in your car. Also once you meet your group, if you don’t mind carrying other luggage in your car, that would be helpful for the bus ride. It is not required that you take other luggage with you, but it would be helpful if you have room. Also, some chaperones have asked about snacks. If you want to bring snacks for your whole group, that is perfectly fine. Please just make sure there are no peanuts. Again, not required, but you are welcome to do that.

If you have further questions, please feel free to email Mrs. Cannaday.
