  • Any students who are taking STAAR online and receiving the Oral Administration accommodation need to bring their ear buds/headphones so that they can hear the computer talking to them. Students cannot receive this accommodation without an IEP, 504 plan, or an RTI plan. As a parent, this is something you are already aware of based on students individual plans. So, if you are reading this and are confused by what I'm talking about, then you don't need to worry about it.
  • Reminder, 5th grade students will need a district issued Chromebook to take the Science STAAR because they already have the secure browser installed. If you have a 5th grade Virtual Learning Academy student and you did not pick up your district issued Chromebook, you can contact Lynn Cannaday to make arrangements to get yours!
  • Attendance on STAAR testing days. If students are scheduled to take the STAAR test, then they are either at school and present, or they are absent. For example, Tuesday, May 11 is a 5th grade STAAR testing day. If your child is a 5th grader, they are expected to be at school taking the STAAR test. If they are at school, they are present. If they are not at school they are absent and their STAAR test document will be coded 'Absent.'
  • Finally, go to the MISD website and you will be able to see a much better version of the calendar.
